Today, British electronic producer Bonobo continues to build anticipation for his forthcoming album Distance in Static with the release of “Talk To Me,” a gorgeous new collaboration featuring the vocals of Nicole Miglis.
The track arrives as the fifth single from Distance in Static, which is set for release on September 11, 2026, via Ninja Tune.
“Talk To Me” is another hypnotic piece of ambient electronic music from Bonobo, blending atmospheric textures with Miglis’ captivating vocals.
It starts off beautifully and patiently builds before the beat kicks in around the one-minute mark, giving the track a deeper groove and a subtle sense of movement.
The song has an especially interesting origin.
According to Simon Green, the track began as a demo shortly after the release of his Fragments album, with its opening choral sounds coming from a spontaneous vocal warm-up session with Nicole Miglis backstage during the Fragments tour in Vienna.
Green later developed the demo in Milan and on the tour bus, with the song eventually evolving into the version we hear today.
That long journey from a simple backstage recording to a fully realized Bonobo production makes “Talk To Me” feel even more special.
It’s atmospheric, immersive and wonderfully understated, while still delivering that satisfying electronic pulse once the track opens up.
Another beautiful addition to the build-up toward Distance in Static.
