Recently this Montreal band called Caméra caught my ears with this dreamy wintery vibe ambient instrumental song called Matsutaké
About the track by Caméra:
“Matsutaké,” which was inspired by the famous scene from the film My Neighbor Totoro, where Totoro and Satsuke wait for the Catbus in the pouring rain.
“Matsutaké” is a species of mushroom that grows in East Asia, but also in Quebec.
It is prized in Japanese cuisine for its distinct spicy-aromatic odor.
The visual, created by Alina Herta, features an image of forest floor in a dark brown filter, reminiscent of the head of this mushroom.
The blend of ’80s synthesizer sounds and acoustic instruments offers a unique experience.
The keyboard with a hushed piano creates an original texture, combining different worlds in a single sound.
