Charlotte Cornfield – Lost Leader [Listen]

Toronto-based musician Charlotte Cornfield has unveiled her latest track, “Lost Leader,” the third single from her forthcoming sixth album, Hurts Like Hell, due out March 27, 2026 via Merge Records outside of Canada and Next Door Records in Canada.
“Lost Leader” finds Cornfield settling comfortably into the moody, introspective indie folk-rock sound she’s become known for, while continuing to refine it.
The track is built around her steady, understated delivery, allowing the emotional weight of the lyrics to take center stage.
There’s a quiet intensity simmering beneath the surface is a balance of vulnerability and resolve that feels both intimate and assured.

About the track by Charlotte:
“This is a hard song. But I also think it’s a little bit funny.
Tragicomic maybe?
It’s about a tormented frontman character whose personal demons and poor behaviour are getting the best of him.
The story is told in second person but there are two perspectives represented here: the struggling artist and the disappointed fan.
Christian Lee Hutson sings the part of the ‘lost leader,’ and though he only has a few lines he delivers the hell out of them.”
