You should definitely check out this band from Hamilton, Ontario called Cowlick.
There must be something in the water in Hamilton that is churning out great indie rock bands.
The band will be playing in Ottawa on November 12th at Zaphod Beeblebrox.
Apparently I was not aware that Dylan Hudecki was in the band By Divine Right.
Now focusing on Cowlick, he is accompanied by his brother Jackson and Ian Parker.
Their music is a blend of indie rock experimental psychedelic.
There is something about the beginning track Wires which I can’t seem to point my finger on.
Its a electrifying track, at parts thrashing rock with something of a British mod rock sound.
Thunder Vs. Lightning is a great psychedelic rock track.
White Russian is kind of surprising since they collaborated with Lee Reed who is rapper (Similar to Jesse Dangerously)
I was very surprised with their album.
Also a note of interest, the band is doing the grassroots approach meaning no publicists, manager, PR and etc.
So hopefully good word of mouth will be great for them.
