Day 2 of Arboretum Festival 2016

It was a busy second day at Arboretum Festival 2016.
Started off by going to two great panels which was called Over The Bridge: Expanding your Québec audience (Presented by Pop Montreal) and Publicity Tip Sheet.
There so much going on music wise and who I got to see witness were Dilly Dally, Fake Palms, Twist, Tim Hecker, Trails, Jeremy Gara, Telecomo and Shotgun Jimmie.

Dilly Dally @ Arboretum Festival 2016
OMG! Dilly Dally totally killed it on the second night of the festival. Not sure if this was their first time in Ottawa? It was so hard, gruff and angsty alternative rock music!
Fake Palms @ Arboretum Festival 2016
Another first timer in Ottawa was Fake Palms. They were absolutely lo-fi fuzz rocking with their music. The band performed materials from their self-titled album but sadly they didn’t sing Sun Drips. Also tracks from their upcoming EP “Heavy Paranoia” which they had 10 available copies on tape.
Twist @ Arboretum Festival 2016
I was so relieved on not missing out Twist. While sweaty and legs wobbly by biking from the church to Babylon. Twist performed an awesome rocking set! Playing materials from the upcoming album Spectral. Great summer surf-beachy rock music to be enjoyed!
Tim Hecker @ Arboretum Festival 2016
This was to be expected for Tim Hecker’s set. Pitch dark in the church which was boiling hot. I only stayed for about 5 minutes but it was loud and mindblowing sold out show.
Trails @ Arboretum Festival 2016
trails was second to performed and it was a mix of singer songwriter with experimental synth-electro sounds. Also did a wonderful cover of Leonard Cohen’s Suzanne. Wonderful and lovely intimate performance.
Jeremy Gara @ Arboretum Festival 2016
Jeremy Gara literally blew my ears and mind away with his experimental music! This year the Arcade Fire drummer released his album called Limn. You had to be there to experience this set.
Telecomo @ Arboretum Festival 2015
Part of OMIC and Ottawashowbox’s showcase called 5 à 7 which is “happy hour”. Telecomo rocked out Bar Robo!
Shotgun Jimmie @ Arboretum Festival 2016
Shotgun Jimmie performed an in-store session at Frank & Oak in Rideau Centre. It was the only time I got to see him perform having missed out the show at House of Common. It was a great set to see him play in a clothing store!
