Today Toronto musician Dorothea Paas dropped the music video and single for Container.
The track is taken from the debut solo album of the same name which comes out on May 7, 2021 via Telephone Explosion Records.
A beautiful and sorrowful indie-folk pop tune.
About the track:
“Container”, for example, is a track built (or homed) around the C chord which reminisces on home and recurring feelings that can also feel too familiar sometimes, in this case, anxiety, something that Dorothea has always struggled with.
Dorothea wrote the track as something a love song to her own anxiety – it draws on some lovely Joni Mitchell Hejira sounds to me, coupled with Grouper and Fairport Convention.
