REVIEW OF THE ALBUM. (Click on continue reading)
Lately I’ve been really intrigued by Joanna Newsom. Many of my friends have been saying what an amazing and beautiful musician she is. In my recent interview with Aidan Knight, he mentioned Joanna Newsom ,and how great the new album is. She’s so popular that both of her shows in Montreal were sold out.
I decided to listen to Have One On Me. I was surprised that the album is a three CD set. (Somewhat similar to Joel Plaskett’s Three album) The first thing that popped into my head was that when she sings, she reminds me of Kate Bush mixed with a little Tori Amos. The only difference is that she plays the harp and focuses on the orchestration of the music.
Have One On Me is such a beautiful and elegant record. The songs are really long, but it shows the artistry in her music, and I felt like I was transported to medieval times.
Best tracks:
- Easy
- Have One On Me
- ’81
- Good Intention Paving Company
- On A Good Day
- In California
- Jackrabbits
- Occident

Have to say, it’s one of the best albums of 2010 so far.
If I rate this, it would be 8.5/10.
