May the “4th” was a funky R&B/Soul sold out show at Ritual.
It was one of those shows I wanted to check out for myself.
A mix of young and old that attended this show.
I am talking about the Lee Fields show that happened on May 4, 2012.
The show was presented by World Famous Music.
Opening up the show was Slim Moore & the Mar-Kays.
A big band consisting of members from The SoulJazz Orchestra.
They played a mix of R&B, funk and Soul.

Slim Moore and the Mar-Kays is a Canadian combo steeped in the deep, raw, passionate sounds of soul music.
They got the audience groovin’ and dancing to their music.
Enjoyed their cover of Marvin Gaye’s “What’s Going On”
Definitely a fun and entertaining set!
Lastly it was Lee Fields & The Expressions turn to shine the stage.
He didn’t get on the stage until at midnight.
The audience went totally wild.
To me, it felt like a time-warp hearing the R&B from the 1960s.
I was near the stage and I couldn’t stop myself from grooving and dancing to his music.
It was magical and insane!
