Today, Fredericton’s noise rock trio Motherhood released the music video for their third leading single, “Bok Globule.”
Taken from their upcoming album, Thunder Perfect Mind, set to drop on January 24, 2025 via Forward Music Group, the track delivers a chaotic burst of energy that exemplifies the band’s signature psych-infused noise punk rock.
About the track by Brydon:
“Bok Globule” is a punk ripper describing the pedestrian’s efforts to escape the Cloud, aspiring to leave the ethereal prison for something simple: “So I’m weaving through the Bok Globule and dreaming of the country / their roads don’t reach my house / be nothing, feed cows / spend weeks on end on plows”.
Reminiscent of scrappy Pixies, the song weaves together many of Motherhood’s strengths; the ferocity of punk, the finesse of surf, and the raw energy of garage into something riffy, rhythmic, and categorically ‘other’.
