Motorists – Cristobal [Music Video]

Today the Toronto-based band Motorists dropped their single called Cristobal via We Are Time.
A solid, good old classic rock ’n’ roll tune that hits all the right notes.

About the track by Motorists:
Cristobal” was road-tested extensively before recording and has been cemented as a go-to crowd pleaser at Motorists’ shows.
“We rehearsed it once before we headed out on our 2024 tour, and have played it at every show since,” says the band. “The driving riffy and harmonic guitar work and emphatic vocal delivery have made this one a fan favourite.

Written shortly after frontperson Craig Fahner relocated to New York, “Cristobal” emerged from a mix of disillusionment and defiance. “I was reading about “seasteading” – a concept beloved by weird tech bro billionaires, who aim to build their own autonomous territories as luxury tax havens separate from the rest of the world.
The song is about not wanting to wake up in a world where the Earth is being used up to fuel a vision of the future that doesn’t involve ordinary people.
It’s reflecting on various attempts to build a new society, and how those utopian ideas seem to forsake the idea of making the world we already live in more livable,” says Fahner.
