This was my first time stepping foot at Massey Hall.
I really wanted to go and see tUnE-yArDs play.
It is the first time NXNE has used this venue for the shows.
I was really excited for this show, having left parts of the Vice Island party.
It’s been about two years since I last saw Merrill play which was at Pop Montreal.
Now with the release of her third album Nikki-Nack, she has become critically acclaim with her blend of afro-pop electro music.
It was a brilliant show!
My favourite was Bizness where her back-up vocals did the saxophone part of the song.
Water Fountain and Gangsta was played.
She rarely plays any material from her debut album Bird-Brains.
Would have loved hearing Sunlight and Fiya.
I was glad that I went to this show during the festival.
Second band that play was Tobacco.
It was basically a EDM set.
People got up from their seats and danced.
First band that play was Toronto’s Weaves.
It is a must to see this band live!
They are one of the “it” Toronto rock bands to check out.
Talented and have catchy tunes.
