At this year’s Pop Montreal 2012.
There was a cool art exhibit that took place at Nomad Industries.
Pop Art presented Arcade Fire‘s The Art of “The Suburbs”.
I was very excited to see this and was curious to how the famous cover was made.
Here is a blurb about it:
Re-uniting the creative team behind the album art for Arcade Fire’s “The Suburbs”, the exhibition offers an opportunity for viewers to examine the group’s creative process through never-before-seen objects and images.
Visitors will also be able to engage with synchronized artwork, as well as see, first hand, the set that was used to create the “The Suburbs” cover image.
The Art of “The Suburbs” is a document of a creative process that goes far beyond what meets the eye.
It is engaging, ambitious, and refined.
For those Arcade Fire fans, it was like a kid in a candy store.
I got to sit in the car.
Walked through the screen and try the silhouette.
Nice to see all eight CD covers (sadly which aren’t available at music stores anymore).
Here are some of the photos I took.
