Today, Zoon (Zoongide’ewin) is the musical project of songwriter, composer, activist, and artist Daniel Monkman—has unveiled the music video for “One Too Many Nights,” featuring Sam Jr. of Broken Social Scene.
The track serves as the lead single from the forthcoming third album Happy Thought School, set for release on June 19, 2026 via Paper Bag Records.
“One Too Many Nights” leans into an emotional, noise-drenched haze, blending indie alt-rock with shoegaze textures.
Layers of distorted guitars and blurred atmospherics create a dreamy yet heavy sonic landscape, while the track’s raw vulnerability cuts through the fog.
It’s a stirring preview that suggests Happy Thought School will continue to expand Zoon’s signature fusion of introspection and immersive sound.
About the track by Daniel:
“One Too Many Nights” an ethereal and immersive anthem about finding yourself after a relationship ends.
Monkman is joined by Sam Jr. (Broken Social Scene) on this vulnerable and cathartic opening track. “One Too Many Nights” documents the psychological reordering that follows a breakup and the subtle rewiring of daily ritual and identity.
ZOON has constantly delivered unique collaborations at every stage of their career, and “One Too Many Nights” is no exception.
“When a relationship ends, it’s not just the person you lose it’s the version of yourself that existed beside them,” says Daniel.
‘“One Too Many Nights’ is about that recalibration.
I don’t date often, so when something shifts, it shifts my whole orbit. In that moment, being alone felt like the honest path forward.”
