After checking out the Pop Montreal showcase during CMW 2013. I went to Global Village Backpackers. I’ve been there for NXNE when they do BBQ Day shows. I didn’t know they can do indoor shows. Kind of reminds me of Mugshots at Ottawa HI-Hostel. Wanted to see Montreal’s Reversing Falls play.
Getting back to CMW 2013 coverage. After the wild set by Misteur Valaire, I went to the Silver Dollar Room for the second Pop Montreal showcase. I got there and saw two acts: • Maica Mia • Boys Who Say No
Toronto’s Hooded Fang just dropped a new single from their upcoming third album “Gravez” which drops on May 28th. Sounds like they are still in their “Toasta Mista” phase. With the indie lo-fi garage surf rock sound. But still a fun catchy tune to listen and probably dance around. Have a listen to Graves
Québécoise singer-songwriter Ariane Moffat will be in Ottawa on April 18th. She will be playing at the NAC Theatre in part of NAC Presents Concert Series. Opening up for Ariane will be Fanny Bloom.
