Whoa! Another new song by Sufjan Stevens has been out.
Its called Too Much from the upcoming The Age Of Adz.
All I have to say is that he went experimental electronica orchestral crazy with this track!!
Its 6:43 minutes of insanity!
He sure knows how to surprise everyone!
Listen to Too Much or download it from this site.

The 2010 Polaris Music Prize will happen on September 20th.
I have decided to review and repost the ten nominated albums in contention. (Only albums I need to listen is Karkwa, Radio Radio, The Sadies and Tegan & Sara)
The first will be The Besnard Lakes‘s The Besnard Lakes Are The Roaring Night.
The album was released on March 9, 2010.

Move over Japandroids, there is another duo band that will be taking over the Canadian indie music scene (Well considering they are touring with them).
I am talking about PS I Love You from Kingston.
The duo consist of Paul Saulnier and Benjamin Nelson.
I was lucky enough to sort of see them live at a NXNE rooftop party and interview Paul Saulnier back in June. Listen to the interview.
The band got some buzz when their song Facelove was on the 7″ split single with Diamond Rings
They will release their first full length called Meet Me At The Muster Station on October 5th from Paperbag Records.
The album title must be a homage of their hometown.
It is ten tracks filled with catchy grungey rock alternative (sometimes poppy) tunes.
There is this 1980s nostalgic new wave rock feel with some added 1990s alternative sound and vocals.
They are very like Japandroids but they are not as heavy and crazy.
Still amazes me that a duo like them can make really great tunes.
Its still their first full-length and you can’t fault them for having really short songs.
Overall a great debut for the mass of Canada to check out and a rocking partying album..
If I rate this, it would be a 8.5/10.

The Slew @ Babylon

Wow! Look at this mess! :P

I can’t believe I actually went to see The Slew on September 7th.
Being a last minute decision to attend this show. and want to thank Exclaim! (For a fuller review of the show).
It is sort of close to being at a Kid Koala show but with a band.
Their set just blew me away and I was not expecting a intense heavy dance set!
Reminds me of Holy F**k when they played in Ottawa back in 2008.
Apparently it was a short set due to being its their first album and a brand new act.
Sucks that they should have been in the shortlist for the Polaris Music Prize.

What a show it was!!
Can’t believe I had alot of fun on a Tuesday night.
Apparently you can get their album for free somewhere on the internet.

The new single from Belle & Sebastian is called Write About Love.
Its from their upcoming album Belle & Sebastian Write About Love which drops on October 12th.
This is really fun catchy song!
Very poppy and has that cool British Mod feel to it.
Its unlikely of me that I will ever get to see them live.
The only closest thing I have heard from the band is their BBC Sessions.
I should definitely need to get some of their albums.
Probably one of the most anticipated albums for the fall.
Listen to Write About Love.

Ottawa’s Politique released a new single called “Meet Me In The Dark” from the upcoming album “Secret Shock”.
I really enjoy this song, very catchy and dance.
Has that indie electro-dance rock.
There is that 1980s feel to it too.
Mallory’s vocals is strong as ever.
If I rate this single, it would be 8/10.
Have a listen to “Meet Me In The Dark”.
Meet Me After Dark by Politique
So far the band will be playing a show at Mavericks on November 6th with Loon Choir and Paramedics.

It was a busy packing show at Raw Sugar Cafe on September 4, 2010.
The weather was changing and it was chilly outside but inside Raw Sugar Cafe was already rock hot.
Despite a distraction by firetrucks, ambulance and the po-po on Somerset. Apparently there was a fire on a building.
Friends and families came out in support to see:

Being the long Labour Day Weekend, decided to get out of my comfort zone of the indie music scene.
Went to Frenzy which is a monthly techno-dance party at Babylon Nightclub in Ottawa.
I finally got to see Jokers of the Scene, since there have been some buzz about them.
It was also a farewell party because the duo of DJ Booth (aka Linus Booth) and Chameleonic (aka Chris Macintrye) since both are moving to Toronto. [Thank you Guerilla Magazine for all the info]
There was great laser lights from Artengine/Ryan Stec.
