Though summer hasn’t officially left us, the Fall 2024 edition of Debaser’s Pique brought a different kind of heat to Ottawa.
Set across Arts Court, Club SAW, and the Ottawa Art Gallery, the event proved to be a thrilling intersection of live music and art.

One of the standout moments came from Pelada, a Montreal-based electro-punk duo, who finally made their appearance before their scheduled disbandment on January 1, 2025. Their set had a brief interruption due to a pulled fire alarm, which momentarily stopped the show, but they bounced back with raw intensity. The crowd was treated to a fierce blend of Spanish-infused electro-punk, dancing through the bittersweet energy of a band nearing the end of its journey.

Cecile Believe, performing outside Arts Court, was equally captivating, delivering an exhilarating set of avant-pop and electronic dance. Her unique sound brought an infectious energy to the audience, and it was refreshing to see the outdoor space packed with dancing bodies, fully immersed in the music.

Evicshen was quite an experience with some experimental noise!
I didn’t stay long because I was sitting on the floor since it was packed and during the set the table kept moving forward and I was afraid of getting hit with something.
