Another event that I am really excited to attend (as media) is Polaris Music Prize 2016.
The winner of the 2016 Polaris Music Prize will be revealed this coming Monday (September 19th) at the Gala held at The Carlu in Toronto.
The Gala kicks off at 8 p.m. ET and will be hosted by Tom Power, new host of CBC Radio One’s q / Polaris jurist, and Amanda Parris, host of CBC Exhibitionists / CBC Radio 2’s Marvin’s Room. It will be streamed live on CBC Music (cbcmusic.ca/polaris) and via CBC Music’s YouTube Channel. The gala will feature performances by Black Mountain, Basia Bulat, Carly Rae Jepsen, Jessy Lanza, Andy Shauf, U.S. Girls and White Lung with added musical support by members of the Toronto Symphony Orchestra.
On Sunday, September 18 at 5 p.m. (5:30NT), CBC-TV will air a one-hour special, CBC Music’s Polaris Music Prize Primer. Hosted by Talia Schlanger, the Polaris Primer gives you everything you need to know the night before the Gala. Featuring performances and interviews with Carly Rae Jepsen, Grimes, Basia Bulat and more
