Pop Montreal 2010: Day 5/Thank You! and Shout outs!

On my last day in Montreal for Pop Montreal.
My brother and I decided to go to Aux Vivres again.
While my brother went to Le Divan Orange
As previously posted with the photos of Sacred Sunday.
Definitely need to make a review of the show which I think people will be jealous that I went or people that attended the show will be talking about it.
The Sacred Sunday was the only show I attended on the last day of Pop Montreal.

Before the doors opened, I was a few of a lucky people to get in ahead of the big long line-up that was eager to see Patrick Watson play live.
I was told before hand that he won’t be singing any of his own songs.
I really didn’t mind it at it, just as long I got to see Patrick Watson in once in a lifetime.
The proceeds from the show went to Montreal City Mission.

It just wasn’t a Patrick Watson show, it was mix of different musicians singing what they think is a gospel/religious theme of the show.
Others include Lil’ Andy, Brad Barr, Socalled, Katie Moore, Alden Penner and many more.

The whole show was truly entertaining.
Lots of clapping, snapping fingers and even sing along.
The piano that was on stage was actually used by Lhasa.
The most moving part was when Socalled covered a Kurt Weill song which was dedicated to Lhasa.
It was so touching to hearing the song.

Alden Penner came up and he did some unique songs.
One was in Spanish and it had that Beirut sound.
Nathan Gage of Shapes and Sizes was playing the Tuba, who knew he can play that instrument.

Lil’ Andy, whoa! that is some singer!
Katie Moore was excellent.

The grand finale was all the musicians that participated did one big song.
So grand that the whole audience got to sing it.
Love the megaphone Patrick had.

Still am feeling giddy that I got to attend this show.
After seeing this show, I am still amazed by the talent of Patrick Watson.
Don’t really care what Pitchfork will say about him.
The way he makes his music just gives me a chill down my spine (in a good way).
