Review: Ottawa Bluesfest [July 10, 2014]

Bluesfest2014-lineup1
Please forgive me if this will be a horrible written review.
So bear with me if there is no photos and lots of mistakes. 😛
Thanks to a friend, I got a free ticket (it was a Artist backstage sticker, no I didn’t go backstage 😛 )
So I had a good time.
Missed Gogol Bordello but I already saw him on Sunday’s TURF.

Here are my highlights:
Catching parts of the Paper Kites.
Already saw them at TURF on Sunday.
It was a nice indie folk set.

Went over to see Procol Harum with the NAC Orchestra.
It was impressive despite the noise bleed by The Paper Kites.
Around their set, I was with a friend and he saw Bluesfest tweet about going to Molson Canadian’s Party Central area.
So we got up and had a nice view of the area.
I was truly happy that they played A Whiter Shade of Pale.
Definitely a nice combination.

Blondie puts on a great show at the Claridge Stage.
Despite Debbie’s vocal, it was exceptional to hear classics like One Way or Another, Call Me, Maria, Atomic and Heart of Glass.
A friend said, “She is definitely rocking it at her age”.
At least I got to experience their music!

Young The Giant over at the River Stage.
They are those acts that I know who they are but haven’t heard their music besides Cough Syrup.
First time that I met up with nice people
Someone gave me pizza and beer.

Overall it was another great night.
