Today, Montreal singer-songwriter Shaina Hayes shares her latest music video for “Tempest.”
The third single from Hayes’ upcoming album Take The Case of a Rose, arriving November 13, 2026 via Bonsound, “Tempest” is a lovely indie-folk pop tune that slowly draws you into its atmospheric world.
The song captures that uneasy feeling of anxiety gathering beneath the surface, with Hayes allowing the tension to build gradually rather than rushing toward an emotional release.
Intertwined acoustic guitars, instinctive percussion and delicate arrangements give the track a natural, organic quality.
Hayes’ luminous vocals are at the centre of it all, balancing vulnerability with a quiet sense of resolve.
The restrained production from longtime collaborators Francis Ledoux on drums and David Marchand on guitar, bass and pedal steel gives “Tempest” plenty of room to breathe, letting each subtle shift in mood come through.
There is something beautifully understated about “Tempest.”
Like distant storm clouds slowly approaching, the song creates a gentle sense of anticipation while remaining warm and inviting.
It is another promising glimpse at what Hayes has in store with Take The Case of a Rose.
