California’s Sis and the Lower Wisdom dropped the track called Big Bend (Oh Jai Mai).
The fourth single is taken from the upcoming album Saints and Aliens which comes out on January 9, 2026 via Native Cat.
About the track by Sis and the Lower Wisdom:
“This song originally started as a long stream-of-consciousness poem written in a cabin on a river at night, in a small silver notebook I bought in Paris, with the word “Merci” on the front, that was helping me generate a lot of writing for a few months (was it the color? The origin? The word “Merci”?) I was with a group of people staying for the weekend in Mendocino county, but feeling a bit disoriented about my life at the time. Yet the moments I spent in the river felt so healing and real, and took me deeply into the bliss of being on Earth. I tried to bring both those states together in this song which I wrote first on the piano, then added vocals and various elements, then finally sent to the brilliant Dougie Stu for further refinement and arrangement.” -Jenny Gillespie Mason
