Today the Montreal/Sweden band Thus Owls dropped the music video for Bleeding.
The leading single is taken from their upcoming epic double album called Who Would Hold You If The Sky Betrayed Us? which will be releasing on March 4, 2022.
A epic 5 minute haunting folk alternative track!
About the track:
Lead single “Bleeding” opens with Erika’s speak-sung poetry, the raying harmonics of Simon’s 12-string guitar—tuned randomly, for overtones and drone, as a way of “shaking out” his habits. When the saxophones come in they are somehow menacing and comforting at once; then the track seems to halt, change directions, and recommence.
Created by Erika, the video for this new single is a visual collage containing old Super 8 footage of human everyday life. A mish-mash of imagery to express this feeling of life, as an uncontrollable machine, ongoing, passing and constant. It can be beautiful, playful and entertaining, yet leave a feeling of having no impact or power while being as much part of it as anyone else. Is there anything one can do to make a difference?
Beautifully introduced with “Bleeding”, Who Would Hold You If The Sky Betrayed Us? is a saxophone-studded journey by one of Canada’s most daring acts, an explosion of improv, poetry and visionary rock’n’roll that seeks to understand what it means to be—and belong.
