My first day/night of Pop Montreal.
During the day I went up to the Notman House and pick up my media pass.
Chilled out there for abit.
The musicians who I happened to see coming in or playing either Fooseball or Table-tennis and Nintendo were:
Members of Silly Kissers
Stef from the Luyas
I went to see abit of the Feist docu-film called Look At What The Light Did Now at the Ukrainian Federation.
It was a great look at what makes Feist so musically creative during her live shows and making of the enormous success of “The Reminder”.
Who knew she did 27 takes for the song “The Water”.
After that I headed of to Casa del Popolo.
I got there when Lost in the Trees was playing.
The room was packed.
They were so amazing, they reminded me of Great Lake Swimmers.
Hopefully I can catch during the BBQ day show at the Notman House.
After them it was Villagers (aka Conor J. O’Brien).
It was a solo set.
He was truly brilliant with just him and a guitar.
It was so quiet that you can hear clicking from the other photographers present.
Overall a great set at Casa del Popolo.
This ends my first night of Pop Montreal.
