Right By Midnight is a new Ottawa band.
The members consist of:
- Charles Downey – Guitars/vocals
- Kris Ward – Vocals/guitars/keys
- Joey Patrois – Bass/vocals
- Alex Patrois – Drums
But their lead singer Kris Ward has been in the Ottawa music for awhile.
The first time I saw Kris Ward was in July 29, 2009 where he opened up for The Got To Get Got.
I got a first listen to their self-titled album which won’t drop on May 18, 2010.
The album was recorded with Dean Watson at Gallery Recording.
I am going to see this band do a Bands Undone session on April 26th, so I can get a feel of what they sound like.
Their music is a mix of indie rock, folk and pop.
High energy feel in tracks like Along The Way, Sound the Alarm, Straight and Narrow, To See You Get Through and Wellington City Skyscraper.
For those unlike myself who likes country, you should listen to Best Way Home.
Then you have the mellower tracks like Familiar Old Sun and “Long, Tall, Order”.
