An Evening With Leif Vollebekk

Another night and another show with Leif Vollebekk.
He played at a house show on January 17, 2010.
Not going to reveal where it was since I am not sure if the people wants the attention.
Must becoming a hardcore fan or just pushing the publicity for the wonderful singer that is Leif Vollebekk.

It was a charity for Blue Planet Charity.
Here is what they do:
Blue Planet Charity is a group of Canadian Earth Science graduates (Masters degree or higher) who volunteer to teach courses at Mekelle University in Ethiopia while local professors upgrade their education abroad. In order to meet demanding world-class standards and enhance education quality, Mekelle professors are pursuing higher education abroad in order to bring knowledge home to Ethiopia. In their absence, Blue Planet Charity places Canadian graduates to volunteer and ensure Mekelle students continue to receive quality instruction.

The turnout was great.
This one was enjoyable and love the atmosphere.
The food was great, I couldn’t resist the pull pork.
It was to die for!
So were the cookies and brownies.

Leif’s performance live is still amazes me.
It really suited him playing in a houseshow kind of atmosphere.
Unlike the previous show, this was far better and it wasn’t as chaotic.
He wasn’t pressured with timing and eased with flow.

Played the usual tracks from Inlands (which is re-released on January 19th)
Previewed some newer tracks which will be out in the fall.
Then played some covers like Ray Charles and Bob Dylan.

Simply a wonderful intimate house show that Leif put on.
What a talented musicians.
Makes me want to play the violin.
