Basia Bulat – Good Advice [Review]

BasiaBulat-GoodAdvice
I’ve been a big fan of Basia Bulat since she came on the scene in 2007 with the debut album Oh My Darling.
Now in 2016 she has released her fourth album “Good Advice” which comes out on February 12, 2016.
Being dubbed as a break-up album, Basia is definitely evolving with her music.
Gone is the folkies sound we have been accustomed in the first two albums and taking a chance with modern instruments of keyboards, synths, bass and drums.
She had help with My Morning Jacket’s Jim James on producing this album.
It has more of a Baroque pop sound like you would hear in Beirut, The Decemberist and Bright Eyes.
Good Advice is more about moving on from a break-up and getting a new fresh start in life.

This is going to be in my listening rotation for quite some time!

Best tracks:

  • Let Me In
  • In The Name Of
  • Time
  • Infamous
  • Fool
  • Someday Soon

I’d give Good Advice:
/10 Camera flashes!
