Here is the last day of CityFolk Festival 2018.
It was a scorching day and kicked off with Ottawa’s own MonkeyJunk.
They are a staple in the Ottawa’s blues-rock music scene.
This was their first time performing at CityFolk and got some people brave the heat for their music. 6/10.
I will be blunt on this artist.
The second act to perform on the City Stage was Colter Wall from Saskatchewan.
Very twangy-country music and made me want to gouge my ears out! Sorry! I’m not into that kind of country music! 3/10.
Whitehorse totally killed it with their set.
The husband-wife duo of Luke Doucet and Melissa McClelland was scorching hot on stage with their rock music!
Promoting their 2017 album Panther in the Dollhouse and previewing their upcoming 2019 EP The Northern South, Vol. 2.
They are so dynamic on stage, they can make love and get away with it! 8/10.
Philadelphia band Mt. Joy performed at the Ravenlaw Stage.
My first time seeing them and they performed a wonderful folk-rock set of their music.
I feel this band will become the “it” band, selling out shows in the coming months or in 2019.
Hamilton, ON’s Terra Lightfoot totally wowed the audience with her blend of indie rock, blues and roots music.
Such a powerful voice that commanded the stage. Raw and powerful performances. 7/10.
Ending the last night of the festival was Portland’s The Decemberists.
Cool stage backdrop and setup, the band is currently promoting their eighth album I’ll Be Your Girl.
It was a mix of synthpop and indie rock which they are famous for.
I enjoyed parts of the show. Mostly like the synth aspect of their current materials they were performing. 8/10.
Overall last day of Cityfolk 2018 – 7/10.
