This was some show to be remembered in 2012.
I wasn’t really expected to go to this show but luck has it and managed to be there.
This being a sold out show with all the excitement and anticipation.
Playing at Ritual:
• Diamond Rings
• Youth & Gold
The show started out with Vancouver/Toronto’s Youth & Gold.
I finally got to see them live.
Heard about them this year during CMW and possibly NXNE.
They were suppose to play at Arts & Crafts (Which they are signed) CMW’s showcase but had to drop out.
I didn’t know Louise Burns is in this band.
I really enjoyed their indie electro-pop, new wave dance set.
Think of it of a mix between Stars, Austra and Trust.
Can’t wait for the debut album in Spring 2013.
Finally it was Diamond Rings’ turn to shine on stage.
It was the first time for Ottawa folks to see him with a backing band.
It was a pretty excited, wild and crazy set.
Started with “Everything Speaks”.
Comes on stage with a silver cape and green lit sunglasses.
It was elaborate to say the least.
Then came back on with a different outfit and sang All The Time.
Diamond Rings played alot of tracks from Free Dimensional.
He did played tracks from Special Affections which were Wait & See, Something Else, All Yrs Songs and It’s Not My Party.
There was alot of outfit changes which made the show captivating.
I couldn’t stop dancing from beginning to end!
Definitely a great time being at this show.
