Last weekend, I attended the Folk Music Ontario Conference 2025.
It’s been about ten years since the conference last took place in Ottawa where this time returning to the Delta Hotel.
For those unfamiliar, the conference is a four-day gathering that celebrates music, learning, and connection within the folk music community. It features a mix of Official, Spotlight, and Private Showcases which the latter being my favourite, as they take place right inside hotel rooms and create an intimate atmosphere for artist discovery and conversation.
It was great to catch so many performances over the weekend, some familiar faces, some exciting new voices, and a few that I wish I’d written down the names of.
