In Media Res and Danger Bot @ Raw Sugar Cafe

This was the second Friday of August where it was packed show at Raw Sugar Cafe.
Last week it was a sitting on the floor show, this time it was standing up show.
Playing at the show was:

The show started off with Danger Bot.
They are a band from Ottawa.
Their music was very indie showgaze rock/pop.
With a band like that, I would have thought their music be somewhat electronica.
They were great live.

Then it was Vancouver’s In Media Res turn to play.
I think this was their first Ottawa show?
Since I listened to their album It Was Warm And Sunny When We First Set Out which has been reviewed.
Wanted to know how the band is like live.
Like the atmosphere of their sets with the lights they had on.
Since I heard the album and forgot to check out their music videos.
Didn’t know the band has two Asian members (One Korean and Singaporean).

It was a pretty epic rocking set!
There were parts that was experimental rock.
They played some selection from It Was Warm And Sunny When We First Set Out.
Andrew the lead singer, he sort of reminded me of Alex of Dirty Beaches.
Wow he sure knows how to play the pedal steet guitar, know any Asians who can play it?
The last song all the member stood up and sang an acoustic track.
I think they are a band to check out live.
Yeah for Asians!

Here are the rest of the photos.
