Today Toronto band Jane’s Party dropped the music video for “Rest of Our Lives.”
The track delivers a warm indie rock energy that instantly feels made for summer road trips, with catchy melodies and an easygoing atmosphere that captures the freedom of driving with the windows down.
The visuals complement the song’s nostalgic and uplifting vibe, making it a fun and memorable release that fits perfectly into the soundtrack of the season.
About the track by Jane’s Party:
“Rest of Our Lives”, a driving, open-road rock tune that began as a sync pitch before evolving into something more expansive, personal, and fully realized.
Originally written for Can-Am’s “On-Road” campaign, “Rest of Our Lives” is about open highways and forward momentum. After completing the commercial version, the band revisited the track, expanding the arrangement and re-recording key elements to transform it into a fully realized single.
“Although a lot of love had gone into writing and revising this version of the song, there was something that felt incomplete about it,” shares Jeff Giles. “I had been prompted by the endless road trip idea, but the song had me reflecting on my own pursuit of getting to the finish line while the day-to-day moments breezed by. Instead of constantly driving toward a final destination, I became interested in the idea of simply being present and finding wonder in the unknown.”
“Jeff’s song turned all of our heads when we first heard it,” shares Tom Ionescu. “We all had that ‘are you sure you want to use this for a commercial?’ reaction, usually reserved for original projects with the kind of promise that rallies everyone around a proper release. For me, the challenge was arranging and producing the song so it felt like a three-minute rock track rather than a jingle.”
