Toronto band Metric have unveiled the music video visualizer for “Time Is a Bomb,” the second single from their upcoming tenth studio album Romanticize the Dive, due out April 24, 2026 via Thirty Tigers.
Driven by punchy synths and heavy, propulsive beats, the track delivers the band’s signature brand of sleek synth-rock.
“Time Is a Bomb” balances urgency with a polished pop sensibility, building momentum through its shimmering electronic layers and anthemic energy. It’s a catchy and energetic preview that hints at the bold, high-octane sound Metric may be exploring on their forthcoming record.
About the track by Emily:
“Say what you want about the wellness boom, I think it’s a natural response to the unrelenting awareness we have of our mortality,” says Emily Haines.
“The feeling of wanting to hold on and make time stop while simultaneously doing everything you can to max out your fleeting vitality – this song expresses that inner tension.
I love my life and I’m truly amazed that I made it to my happily ever after, but I don’t want to spend the time I have left being boring, obsessing over consequences and hiding from fun. I don’t expect to be jumping off speaker stacks or crowd surfing like I used to, but it’s still too soon to say never.”
