They refer to a very specific dilemma: succumbing to the pressure of becoming the perfect partner, or staying true to yourself and ending a relationship that’s running out of steam. Movies (Softest Version), on the other hand, evokes a sense of solitude that is absent from the original track.
This new version was recorded with David Tanton, member of Tender Spring and Afternoon Bike Ride, who plays guitard on the track.
