Vancouver bands Mother Mother and Said the Whale touched down in Ottawa at Algonquin Commons Theatre on March 7, 2019.
Mother Mother is currently on their North American “Dance and Cry Tour”.
In support of their seventh album of the same night.
Opening up for them was Said the Whale, who are currently promoting their new and sixth album called Cascadia.
The whole 45 minute was very upbeat indie alternative pop music.
Considering their last album was heavy and emotional one (if only they played Miscarriage).
Performing a mix from their repertoire from their previous albums.
Even the members of Mother Mother came on stage to do some drinking and maybe poker during UnAmerican.
Great start to the show. 8/10.
Then Mother Mother came on stage.
I hadn’t seen the band in quite some time.
Fun and lively entertaining set of the band performing a mix of songs from their seven albums.
Happy to hear favorites like O My Heart, Body of Years, Hayloft and the Stand.
Molly did a cover of Radiohead’s Creep.
Jasmin did a wonderful intimate performance of Biting on a Rose with Ryan on keyboards that wowed the audience.
Overall it was a great show! 8/10.
