On April 9, 2024, Ottawa experienced its hottest musical event as Noah Kahan took the stage at the Canadian Tire Centre for a sold-out show.
Despite the feverish demand for tickets, I was fortunate enough to secure entry through a connection, though rumors circulated that the venue had released additional tickets to appease those suffering from FOMO.

The atmosphere was electric, with a sea of Gen Zers filling the arena, eagerly belting out every word to Noah’s soul-stirring songs. Currently touring in support of his latest album, “Stick Season (Forever),” Noah’s performance was nothing short of captivating. Drawing comparisons to the likes of Mumford & Sons and Hozier, Noah possesses a uniquely American charm, blending powerful vocals with irresistibly catchy lyrics.

While the imposing presence of giant ropes obstructed some views of the stage, it did little to dampen the enthusiasm of the crowd.
From start to finish, Noah delivered an unforgettable performance, culminating in a stirring rendition of his chart-topping hit, “Stick Season.”
This track, which recently claimed the #1 spot on the UK Singles Chart which prevent Sophie Ellis-Bextor to return to #1 for the resurgence of Murder on the Dancefloor, solidifies Noah’s status as a breakout male singer-songwriter making waves across the globe.
Opening the show was Jensen McRae, whose enchanting blend of singer-songwriter folk-pop set the perfect tone for the evening ahead.

However, as much as I enjoyed Noah’s live performance, I found myself struggling to connect with his album during the bus ride to the venue.
Despite my best efforts, I couldn’t seem to progress beyond the second track, ultimately retreating to the comforting sounds of Vampire Weekend’s “Only God Was Above Us.”

In conclusion, Noah Kahan’s concert was an undeniable highlight of Ottawa’s music scene, showcasing the immense talent of this rising star.
From his magnetic stage presence to his infectious melodies, Noah left an indelible impression on all fortunate enough to witness his performance.
As for me, I may have gained bragging rights for attending, but it’s clear that Noah’s live show is where his artistry truly shines.
