No Joy, Greathunter & Push Come Shove @ The 27 Club

Wednesday night at the 27 Club, I made sure not to miss Montreal’s No Joy, fresh off seeing them last Friday at Pop Montreal.
Their set was a wall of sound—loud, immersive shoegaze rock that pulled from their brand new album Bugland as well as 2013’s Wait to Pleasure.
The energy was so good I couldn’t resist picking up a vinyl copy of Bugland at the merch table.

Supporting them was Ottawa’s Greathunter, who delivered a sweeping, dreamlike orchestral rock set that contrasted beautifully with the headliner’s raw intensity.

Opening the night were local favorites Push Come Shove, setting the tone with their textured indie post-rock sound.
