During my Saturday afternoons.
I decided to check out this unofficial NXNE event BBQ or as it was called a “Synthbeque” that took place at Milk Glass Co.
The music there was very experimental.
The bands I saw playing:
Doom Squad
Betty and Veronica
Young Liars
Sexy Merlin (???)
I was really impressed with Montreal/Toronto act Doom Squad.
They had that experimental electronica sound.
They were really great!
Montreal’s Betty and Veronica was next.
They had that indie synth-poppy sound.
Not sure if it was kind of beach summery too.
But I really liked their music.
Young Liars just rocked it out with their set.
I think I saw Brendan Canning during this set.
Caught abit of Sexy Merlin.
It was kind of different and weird.
Overall this is what I love about NXNE.
Going to these kind of BBQ shows.
