What do you think of this year’s shortlist?
The gala is taking place at the Carlu in Toronto and will be hosted by Kathleen Edwards and Shad on September 23rd.
This year the Gala will be opened to the public with tickets at $50.
I have to say 5 of my “Who I want in the shortlist” came true.
The big surprise was Zaki Ibrahim, Whitehorse and A Tribe Called Red.
While I wasn’t surprised with Metric and Tegan & Sara (I can see alot of people moaning and groaning about them)
My prediction of Metz, Colin Stetson and Young Galaxy would make it on the shortlist. Congrats to them!!
Godspeed You! I have to say was a difficult album for me to listen to.
If I guess before the gala, I would say it’s a close call between A Tribe Called Red and Purity Ring.
