Prairie Scene with Royal Canoe, The Liptonians and Maybe Smith

The Prairie Scene started on April 26th and with alot of events happening.
I went to Mavericks to see great Prairie acts play live.
They were:

It’s been awhile since I last heard from Maybe Smith.
Very excited to hear what he will have in store for the set.
Basically just him and his guitar. Very different since I was expecting something electro.
Just him singing songs straight on without stopping, it was like a long medley from the album “Animals & Architects”.
Then he asked if people were on Twitter and gave out some items out for those that Tweeted him. (Twitter is Maybe Smith)
Apparently he called me out my Twitter is Photogmusic and got a DVD.
While this other Twitterer was TCP909 got greeting cards.
He had a funny story he told, when he went jogging near the Rideau Canal (the day of the big wind storm). He saw two couples making out and all of a sudden the guy’s hair flies off and must have went into the canal. Apparently the girl didn’t know and he didn’t stay long to see what had happened.
It was a nice set.

Second was The Liptonians.
I heard some good things from them.
They totally rocked their set.
I was like blown away!
So good that I had to buy their album “Let’s All March Back Into The Sea“.
Listen to Growing Old In The City.

Lastly it was Royal Canoe.
Having seen them last year.
They were great live with their blend of indie experimental pop music.
Music is fun and dance to.
Still amazed to see two drummers.
A great lively band, you have to check them out or get their album “Co-Op Mode“.
Listen to Me Loving Your Money.
