I was so excited for this show at Zaphod Beeblebrox on April 28th!
Preoccupations hadn’t played an actual Ottawa show (Bluesfest doesn’t count and it was raining that night) since they released their eponymous album back in fall of 2016.
Also on the bill was Walrus and The Yips.
One of the wildest and sweatiest show so far this year!
Literally melted my face/ears off!!
The band mostly played materials from their 2015 album and some from last year’s album.
Bummed out that they didn’t perform Degraded.
At least they performed the epic track Memory and Matt singing Dan Boekner’s part.
Ended off with a 20-minute version of Death and that was insane!
Halifax’s Walrus was the second act to perform.
The band performed tracks from their long awaited full-length album Family Hangover which drops in May.
Fun indie psych-rock that the audience enjoyed!
Ottawa’s The Yips which was their first show in 2017.
Starting off the show with their ouija-rock set.
Crossing fingers for more new stuff from The Yips later this year!
Overall it was one of the moshiest (Is that a word?) that the band has played in Ottawa.
