Started off CMW on March 21st with a noon showcase presented by CBC Music at the Church of the Holy Trinity.
How I managed to wake up very early for this is beyond me but I really wanted to check it out.
Also I wanted to check out this venue which is right beside Eaton Centre.
The acts that played the first of three nooner showcases:
• Rah Rah
• Dominique Fricot
This showcase was hosted by CBC Radio 2 Morning and Deep Roots‘ Tom Power.
I didn’t know he moved to Toronto.
Anyways the first act to play was Dominique Fricot from Vancouver.
He had that soul, rock and pop vibe to his music.
I was surprised to see Devon of Beekeeper be one of his backing band members.
It was a pretty nice set.
Rah Rah was the last act of the showcase.
It was the only time that I got to see them live.
Nice to hear tracks from their current album “The Poet’s Dead”.
In my opinion sounded better live.
Love seeing them the balloons of “RAH”.
Overall a great afternoon showcase!
Here are the rest of the photos.
