Recently, Halifax-based musician Rich Aucoin released his latest single, “Frequency Modulation.”
The track marks the seventh single from the fourth and final edition of his Synthetic Season 4 series, set to drop on October 30, 2025, via We Are Busy Bodies.
“Frequency Modulation” is a funky and hypnotic electronic dance track, blending pulsating synths, rhythmic basslines, and Aucoin’s signature euphoric energy.
It perfectly captures the spirit of his ongoing Synthetic Season project which is a celebration of analog textures, experimental soundscapes, and pure dancefloor joy.
About the track by Rich:
“Frequency Modulation” is one half of the pair of tracks of the popular methods radio waves are carried.
This track, starts with a Minneapolis bright synth funk groove feeling like Morris Day & The Time by way of Parliament and Prince.
The track is built around horn-like stabs of stacks of Roland classic synths: Junos and Jupiters, recorded at the Vintage Synthesizer Museum in Los Angeles back in June 2022.
This section also includes the Russian answer to the Moog Model D, the Formanta Polivoks in its bass synth provided by synth guru Peter Chapman at his Milkshake Recording in November 2024.
This marks the 4th album Chapman has joined Aucoin in recording.
