It was a bright, hot and sunny Saturday. Went down to Yonge & Dundas Square during NXNE. I wanted to see Vancouver’s Brasstronaut play.
It was a nice acoustic folk show at Raw Sugar Cafe on June 26, 2012. A decent crowd attended this lovely night of music. Playing at the show were: Ben Caplan Brandon Allan pleasure playing with you last night @brandon_allan! Hope to cross musical paths again! — Ben Caplan (@bencaplanmusic) June 27, 2012
Final stop on Friday night’s NXNE 2012. Headed to the Cameron House and caught Montreal’s Cobra & Vulture‘s set. Usually the 2am slot would be killer but there was alot of people at the venue. Also it was Friday nights so people were partying for the weekend.
I headed up to the Silver Dollar Room and it happened to be Pop Montreal‘s NXNE showcase. Sadly I missed Parlovr but was excited to see TOPS play. I get there and Bleached was playing their second of three nights at the venue. I hadn’t seen TOPS since I saw them at Pop Montreal last …
Check out the new single from Diamond Rings. I’m Just Me is taken from his upcoming second album. This is a far more electronic/scorching dancefloor track than before. Have a listen to it.
Now getting back to NXNE 2012 coverage. After seeing DIIV playing a insane set at Lee’s Palace. It was Brooklyn’s Friends to come up. Hadn’t seen them since last November at Raw Sugar Cafe. After that things has changed, they are signed to Fat Possum and finally dropped their debut album Manifest! Let’s say things …
The Peptides played at the Clocktower Brew Pub parking lot of Feverfest on June 23, 2012. It was an entertaining set this big Ottawa band played. A mix of electro-synth pop tune, avant-garde, Cabaret, tender acoustic ballads & kitschy costumes. Definitely get your feet moving.
Ty Hall played inside Clocktower Brew Pub on June 23, 2012. Play a acoustic set of his music.
Zoo Legacy played the Clocktower Brew Pub parking lot at Ottawa’s Feverfest 2012 on June 23, 2012. I hadn’t seen them play live in awhile. Noticed the band went from a trio to actually a full band of five members. Well they put on a great set filled with indie rock and hip-hop.
Again with the weather which made people didn’t want to go outside. It didn’t stop the 4in1 Acoustic Park Sessions that took place at Parkdale Park. So it was grey and cloudy but it didn’t rain at this session. Playing at the session were: • André M. Bluteau • J.M. Farr • Robots! Everywhere! • Landon AR …
