Raw Sugar Cafe was pretty busy on October 22, 2011.
It was definitely a hot and demand show with The Wooden Sky and Northcote.
Those who was lucky to attend this sold out show was in for a treat.
The show started off with Victoria’s Northcote.
It was their first time playing in Ottawa.
I have to say that I really enjoyed Northcote.
Music is very indie folk rock with some hint of country.
Lots of great melodies which had some audience sway to their music.
Toronto’s The Wooden Sky was up.
Everyone was standing on their feet.
It was sort of stripped down acoustic show.
In total they played sixteen songs which a mix of When Lost At Sea, If I don’t come home you’ll know I’m gone and the new EP City Of Lights.
Amazing hearing songs like North Dakota, The Wooden Sky, My Old Ghosts and Oh My God (It Still Means Alot To Me) in a intimate atmosphere.
Overall one of the best sets The Wooden Sky has put on and the audience wasn’t rowdy.
Good thing I stayed abit longer.
Because Gavin decided to do a impromptu one song set outside Raw Sugar Cafe.
He sang Darker Streets Than Mine.
It was a great sing along for those who was there to see it.
Here is the video I taped from it. (Sorry about the shakiness.)
Here are the rest of the photos.
