Death can certainly change everything in a band’s life
That was the case for You Say Party.
The loss of their drummer Devon Clifford was a shock and changed the outlook for the band.
So they decided to go on hiatus.
While there was a glimmer of hope when the band re-formed and performed at Paper Bag Record‘s 10th anniversary in 2012.
There was hope on what was new to come!
Now fast forward to 2016 and the wait is over with the release of their eponymous album.
Gone are the dance-punk sound and more of a darker subdue new wave electro-pop sound.
Reminds me of how Young Galaxy took a chance with Shapeshifting when they changed from rock to electronica.
On this album, gone are the upbeat energetic sounds to more of serious mellow tone and how we need to take life very serious and love each other.
This is a great return for the band and loving this album.
A new chapter on what is to come!
