It’s been a long time waiting, I finally got a chance to see Zola Jesus.
Not sure if this was her first Ottawa show?
Having missed out in festivals like NXNE, CMW and Pop Montreal.
I was totally excited to see her perform live.
It was just her and her guitarist Alex DeGroot.
The whole set was filled with darkwave synth, industrial and art pop music.
Currently promoting 2017’s Okovi and 2018 Okovi: Addition, it was a loud, intense and heavy emotional show and I loved it! 9/10.
Opening up the show was Ottawa’s Townes.
Exact opposite of Zola Jesus’ music.
More of an upbeat electro-pop dance music to warm up the audience. 7/10.
