Adam Saikaley, Hmmm and Europe In Colour @ House Show

The show I went tonight was a electronic setting.
I went to a basement show on Friday November 21.
Its interesting when people know who you are.
While I am lost for words or abit clueless because I always forget the people who I encounter during the shows.

One of those quirky basement house shows.

2 acts from Toronto and 1 from Ottawa.

I have to say Toronto has a unique music indie scene

First to play was Hmmm.
He is from Toronto and he just one guy with his synth and plays a dancey techno set.
Quirky and fun.
It was a riot.

After Hmmm was Adam Saikaley.
This time its his solo works and far different from his band Videotape.
His music is mostly instrumental. Very amibient, electronica and sometimes
Great visual setup which he had 4 different TVs and had like flashing colours.
I was abit worried of getting seizures like what happened a few years back in Japan with that Pokemon episode.
All in all I was fine and no seizures.
I wasn’t sure how long his set was but it was cut short because the neighbors were complaining with the sound and were going to call the po-po.
His stuff just gave me chills down my spill (which is a good time just to let everyone know).
Check out his site. (Be warned for those who might be color sensitive and it might give seizures.)

Finally it was Europe In Colour.
Europe In Colour‘s music was dreamy, fun and great to dance to.
It was a happy set and no one complained and everyone had a great time.
Hearing “Last Flight to Paris” was heaven for me and I was dancing and feel like floating in the air.
The duo reminds me of Woodhands and Handsome Furs.
But just softer with the electronica style of music.
On another note, they were really nice and talked about the Toronto indie music scene. Mostly on the venues and bands.
I was surprised on their EP that they thanked Basia Bulat.
One of them is good friends with her.
At least they got someone popular to back up.
