Hope everyone is enjoying their holidays?
Sorry if I haven’t been updating the site but I am trying to catch up on the best of 2013.
Here is the list for Singles and Music.
Check it out!

  1. Braids – December/In Kind
  2. Braids returned with a second album.
It was a change from their debut.
December is my favorite track and a surprise that it’s short.
While the music video In Kind is very beautiful and breathtaking.

  3. M.I.A. – Bring the Noize
  4. M.I.A. returned in 2013 with the album Matangi.
It’s this song Bring The Noize is in my opinion the standout track.

  5. Savages – She Will/Shut Up
  6. This all female British punk rock band burst into 2013 with their angsty music.
Listen to She Will and check out their music video for Shut Up.
You can see why they were the talk at music festivals.

  7. Suuns – 20/20 / Edie’s Dream
  8. Be warn while watching the music video for 2020 since it will cause seizures.
While the single choice was Edie’s Dream which I can’t stop listening

  9. John Newman – Love Me Again
  10. A #1 hit in the UK.
A fun pop, breakbeat and Northern soul (Whatever that means) that you can sing and dance along too.
The music video has that retro thing but has a tragic ending.

  11. Cayucas – High School Lover
  12. Doesn’t have that surfy summer sound that the band released in 2012 with Swimsuit and Cayucos.
But it is still a fun catchy song that is reminisced of early Vampire Weekend.
Music video is very cool too.

  13. James Blake – Retrograde
  14. It’s James Blake, what can I say!?
    A dope haunting track.

  15. Absolutely Free – Clothed Woman, Sitting
  16. Toronto experimental art rockers released this epic 8 minute song.
Track picks up after the 4:30 minute mark with the singing and after the 8 minute mark things go insane!
My favorite part is when they sing out the band name.
  17. Yeah Yeah Yeahs – Sacrilege
  18. While it doesn’t compare to “Zero”.
This is song still catches your ears.
The part at the end with the gospel choir is very chilling.

  19. Hooded Fang – Graves
  20. Great lo-fi surf rock track from the album of the same name.
Music video is very trippy and weird!
