Today, the newly reconfigured British band Black Country, New Road returns with their third album, Forever Howlong, released via Ninja Tune.
While releasing a sophomore album can already be a daunting task for many bands, BCNR faced an even greater challenge following the departure of original bandleader Isaac Wood in 2022. And yet, Forever Howlong emerges as a breath of fresh air — a graceful evolution that showcases the band’s resilience and creative reinvention.
Shifting away from their post-punk origins, the album leans into a more delicate blend of folk, baroque pop, and alternative rock. It’s a bold stylistic pivot, but one that feels organic and assured.
Despite the sonic shift, Forever Howlong retains the emotional depth and musical brilliance that has come to define Black Country, New Road.
