Elephant Stone & Ornaments @ Zaphod Beeblebrox

On May 20, 2010, after the free show at Major’s Hill Park.
I headed over to Zaphod Beeblebrox.
Playing at the show were:

When I arrived at Zaphods, it was kind of hot instead.
I guess the air conditioner was broken.
Since it was only two bands playing.
Show didn’t start to around 9pm.

The first band to play was Ornaments.
They are band from Ottawa.
Music was very punk rock and powerpop.
It was actually my first time seeing them considering I get inundated with Facebook invites to their shows which I can’t attend due to other shows happening in Ottawa.
Great local band to see live.

After that it was Elephant Stone’s turn to go up on stage.
Finally I got a chance to see them live.
Last year this band was on the Polaris Prize long list.
The band was started by Rishi Dhir.
I was not aware that the band uses sitar into their music.
Which could be why they were in the long list nomination.
Anyways I was blown away with their performance.
I swear that sitar was hypnotic to look and listen.
It was a fun groovy psychedelic set Elephant Stone put on.
They reminded me of Cornershop.

The band was just brilliantly amazing live.
Here is what they sang.
